  • Notes

    • He apparently was descended from the family of the Counts Von Helfenstein who held sway over a portion of Swabia between the ninth and seventeenth centuries, finally losing their titles and properties in 1627.
He died leaving his family impoverished. Following the death of his son, Johann Frederick, in 1793 the widow and children took the latin (signature of forebears) Helvenston for the German Helfenstein.
