Rheinlander petitioned to be allowed to join the Salzburgers at Ebenezer.nmnezer by July 31. Four of the children died before the Rheinlanders left Charleston. The number of children was never mentioned, or was the first name of any of the Rheinlanders. At least on son went with his parents to Ebenezer, as Pastor Bolzius mentioned him as leaving Ebenezer on Nov. 15, 1736, to go learn the shoe maker's trade with the Herrnhuters.
