  Obituaries for June 15, 2002 Savannah Morning News Verna Loraine Futch Pevey, 86, of Savannah, died Wednesday, June 12 at her residence. She was born in Pembroke and moved to Savannah in the early 1940s. he was the widow of the late H. Sam Pevey, Sr. She was a member of First Christian Church and was a homemaker. Survivors: son and daughter-in-law, H. Sam Pevey, Jr. and Faye Pevey of Savannah; daughters and son-in-law, Jane and Kenneth G. Smith and Carolyn P. Wolfe, all of Savannah; brother, G. C. Futch of McDonough, GA; sisters, Latrerelle F. Ledford of Hayesville, NC and Mary F. Burnsed of Pembroke; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation: 6:00-9:00 pm. Sunday, June 16 at the Hubert C. Baker Funeral Home, Hodgson Memoriaial Chapel. Funeral: 11:00 a. m. Monday, June 17 in the Chapel of the Hubert C.
